Fene Ouel Amal & Galia Club Mascara – Fight Song

While we are on the subject of second division football clubs, Galia Club Mascara was founded in 1925 and was one of the first Muslim teams in French Algeria. They are currently in 14th place in Western Division of Ligue 2, but they won the division 1 championship in 1984 with Lakhdar Belloumi, the greatest Algerian soccer player of all-time. There is no date on this record but it easily could have been the championship year. I was unable to uncover anything about Fene Ouel Amal but I think it’s fair to assume that he and the team gathered in the locker room to sing this fight song prior to every game. Jacky Baron

Jacky Baron – Charly Run (1979)

Jacky Baron is pretty mysterious, although he does appear to have his own youtube channel with seven (now 8) loyal subscribers. Most of the twelve songs on Don’t Play That Song were co-written by Elliouz Rabin, a prolific Israeli songwriter and former goalkeeper for Beitar Ramla F.C., a second-tier Israeli football club.
